Beware of Mr. Baggy Eyes!

The reasons for baggy eyes are many. Genetic predisposition, sleep deprivation, or even just the way you sleep! Whatever the case may be, the effects of having baggy eyes can really take a toll on you. It indicates that you may be in a bad mood, didn't sleep well, look messy and disorganized, or are a party animal. However, this quick 5 minute remedy with do the trick for you:

My Instructions for Getting Rid of Baggy Eyes:
1. Fill half a shot glass with milk (or rose water) and the other half with water
2. Store in the refrigerator until cool (or put in the freezer for 5-7 minutes)
3. Gather cotton balls
4. Find a flat comfortable surface to lay on (a yoga mat would be good)
5. Once cool, place a cotton ball in the shot glass, lay on the flat surface, and put the cotton ball on your eye.
6. Repeat for the other eye.
7. Lay there, pondering life, with these cotton balls on your face for at least five minutes.
8. Remove, and voila! Ten years off your life, immediately!

So you might ask, why does the mix need to be cold? People use cucumbers and other cold concoctions to get rid of the tired in their faces. The cool temperature causes vasoconstriction, a process where blood vessels tend to go closer to your core and away from the surface when temperatures are cooler, in order to maintain homeostasis in the body. With baggy eyes, blood vessels are closer to the surface following vasodilation, where the body is trying to release lots of heat in order to maintain homeostasis. To counteract this process, applying coolness on the eyes will make the blood return to your inner core, and eventually the puffiness to go away. It's like clockwork. Try it!

Of course, getting adequate rest, drink plenty of water, and maintaining a healthy diet and well as removing stressors from your life and exercise will not only help keep the baggy eyes at bay, but will make you happier and healthier person. Cheers to that!
